This extension works great. I see a lot of downvotes complaining that it does not work. If you are on Ubuntu, the most common cause is that you have used to snap to install Chromium or Firefox. Use the official PPAs from Mozilla (and whatever is the equivalent for Chromium) and it will work fine. Been using this addon for years and all of a sudden on both Edge and Chrome on Windows 10 the UI has completely changed to be triple the size barely fitting the credential options in. And trying to interact with the credentials to fill basically does nothing. If i'm lucky something might happen 1/20 times I click on one of the credentials. Reported the issue on github, and was told this change is by design. edit: ended up trying the addon again and found a compact list view option in the addon settings, not only is this much better designed but the performance/lag i was getting trying to interact with it is mostly gone. I still get some situations where i click credentials and they don't populate the fields, but this is now more like 1/3 times instead of 1/20

KeePassXC needs very frequent browser extension updates (each browser needs its extension updated every 2 to 3 weeks) and the process of updating the browser extensions is not clear. The directions of how to download and update an extension doesn't feel like the actual process that occurs and I can never tell when the update is completed or not. Hi Sami. Yes, I would be happy to share that feedback with you. If you would like to connect on LinkedIn, send me an invite there and we can IM. To answer your question here, I just took the most recent update (on July 5, 2024). After I clicked the icon for the Chrome browser extension, a screen pops up that states "Your download has started! Download again." This seems to be the end of the process and guidance, but it is not clear if users are then supposed to find and do something with the download. I would expect either further instructions (if I am supposed to take further actions) or a confirmation that the update is completed (if there are no further actions for me to take). Based on prior experiences, I feel like if I went to my downloads folder and tried to open the Chrome extension update that just downloaded, I would likely receive an error message that the download I am trying to initiate is "already in progress," and the system would give me the choice of either terminating the opening that I just initiated or continuing with both versions. Honestly, this happens every time and I don't know correct answer to that question. I have tried both routes, but I never get to a point at which I get a confirmation that any update or browser extension has been completed. I hope that helps and I would be happy to continue with the conversation where ever most convenient for you.

KeePassXC is still the only password manager which I trust. The browser extension works perfectly for me on Windows and MacOS with Brave Browser.

Works flawlessly for me on all supported systems

Works great. I'm using Win10/Brave, and Chrome. Even with the DB hosted on a network drive, and a local key file, the extension has no issues forwarding the login information to my browser. UI seems fairly intuitive. Will have to check back once I get my Arch system up and running. Thank you all for making a reliable and secure product!

Trash. 1. The instructions say "Open the KeePassXC application on your desktop and navigate to Tools > Settings." No such menu item exists. The only thing under the Tools menu is the Password Generator. The settings page is available through the gear icon, which I discovered by clicking everything in sight. 2. In the troubleshooting guide, they recommend debugging the application, like everyone is a developer and like we are supposed to do their work for them. 3. MacOS popped up a notification that "Janek Bevendorff" had been added to login items. A Google search reveals that that is one of the developers' names. Why is it not named "Keepass"? The issue on Github says it is the Mac's fault. Nope. Find the field in Github where that person's name is and type Keepass. I could go on, but why bother? These people are amateurs and idiots. The only reason I can think of that my company chose this PoS as the approved password manager is that someone in IT is involved in the project. Other than loving to pick apart needless IT issues, I can't imagine any reason to use it.

If only this extension didn't lose connection, whenever it feels like it, and force you to uninstall/reinstall it to get connected again. And don't get me started on the fact that if you have more than one DB, you have to have the "correct" one as the selected tab, or it doesn't find your login creds. Such a pointless and VERY annoying restriction.

I agree with Neil; if you can use KeePass, you can use the extension. It feels pretty similar, and the few small configuration settings are easy to understand. If you encounter any issues, you can reference the browser integration section of the Quick Start guide here. https://keepassxc.org/docs/KeePassXC_GettingStarted#_setup_browser_integration

Amazing Tool

I suspect people overlook the couple-step process to get things connected correctly? Seems to work great.

Nick Travis

Installed normally and have keepass running, but clicking connect to database doesn't seem to do anything

Nancy Ceridwyn

This is the worst performance I have ever experience. Too many glitches.

Igor Bozhennikov

Overall, this extension is a great addition to KeePass for those who want to simplify the process of entering passwords in the browser without sacrificing security. I recommend it to anyone who already uses KeePass and wants to expand its functionality in their browser.

Working for me with Chrome on Windows10, Ubuntu LTS. Love it.
